A fatbike trip to the Adirondacks

Discovering the Wilmington region

Photos and Text by Karine Corbeil

The place: The Adirondacks in New York State, just 2 hours from Montreal.

The plan: To advance our list of the 46 peaks over 4000 feet in the Adirondacks.

And the fatbike? The idea was to do approaches and discover the bike trails of this region.

So, after a long day of hiking in the Santanoni Mountains, we went to stretch our legs at the mountain bike network in Lake Placid. The Lussi & Loggers network offers very accessible and well-marked trails.

For fans of local beers, a mandatory stop at Brew Castle located in Keene to stock up was made. The Seward mountain range was next on the list, and we are proud to have finally been able to climb these peaks.

The journey concluded with the exploration of the surroundings of Whiteface on a Chic-Chocs fatbike, with harsh weather and a lot of snow on the road. The Poor’s man Downhill descent was a fitting finale!
